Rihanna Could Face Charges After Tattooing Her Friends

Barbados-born singer Rihanna could be in some trouble for tattooing her friends at a New York City tattoo parlor last Wednesday night. MTV News reports the “Disturbia” singer was hanging out with friends who work at East Side Ink when she sat down to tattoo some body art onto them. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene later told MTV that what Rihanna was doing may have been illegal because only licensed tattoo artists can ink other people. In a statement, the department of health said they are investigating the incident. reported that, if charges are pressed against Rihanna for tattooing her friends, she could face up to three misdemeanors. The singer would have to pay between 500 and one-thousand-dollars for the offense.
The owner of East Side Ink said Rihanna did not visit the shop with the intention of inking her friends who worked there. The owner said it was a spur of the moment thing and they were simply having fun.
